scala got into grand central tech in august 2017, and the company moved from the office at cewit to 335 madison avenue, third floor, across the street from grand central terminal.
we went from seven people to fifteen.
the product had moved as well. it started as spare office machines linked into a grid; by that summer the pitch was the job scheduler module, which used spectral graph theory to decide how work was distributed across a cluster, and it was being sold against public clouds, private clouds and bare metal.
we also did work for new york city's department of environmental protection.
